I've been in a good mood lately, and I think I've figured out one of the reasons why.
I got my Macbook Pro over a week ago, and its been definitely worth the investment.
I was considering about a month ago to go for a simple HP laptop just because I didn't think I could wait till I had the bucks for the Mac. Well, thinking about it now, thank goodness I didn't doubt my sentiment for the Apple machine.
The operating system hasn't changed much since I was last working at Image Factory but there are a few more tricks that I'm finding out every day.
The programs that come with the purchase are pretty cool, and its nice going through all the options available. The main difference from a PC is that its just so much easier to set up, and you have so much more control about what you need to do.
Maybe because I've had more than a 2 year layoff from using a Mac that makes it so much more pleasurable, but even if you are a regular user you appreciate how much easier to carry out the most menial tasks.
Now you'll have to excuse me as I walk into the Internet Cafe here on the ship and snigger a little when I see those monkeys tapping away on their bulky plastic virus-magnet slabs of computer parts, and park off browsing the net with little fuss.

I know we are supposed to be happy for you, but I WANT ONE TOO!
ya you big twat! im jealous man - bill gates and his crappy pcs can go jump off a cliff - im for mac - pity i cant afford it - how much you pay for yours? is the processing power on that thing good for big jobs - waht the specs and price?
Mmmm mac, I've completely forgotten how cool it is tio caress those keys... was hoping on saving up for one soon, but now all my saving is going into Visiting my brother his wife and there soon to be born rug rat.
Hey Dean are you tryin to see if that whole two heads is better than one thing?
Ehehe
sies dale, watch the language!
You're right about mac's not being virus-magnets. Shoo-wow. I've got a pc fujitsu-siemens and it's a honey, but viruses seem to think so too:/
The control thing is also cool. Microsoft seems to think they might just take over the world and they are sooo dodgey on privacy issues. Meh.
Ja hey, actually paid a pretty penny at the end of the day, $2455 tax included. Upgraded to 2GB RAM, with a 2.16 Ghz Processor. It zooms around from each application to the next, but I haven't really tested it with too much work-related tasks.
Cool thing is that on this ship there are plenty of ou's with Macs, so its easy enough sharing files/info with the blue-tooth enabled facility.
whatever, its still a one buttoned, overpriced, under specs, piece of plastic. does look nice though. so bra, vat ek vra vir jy is doen daai appul die same things as a pc?
haha Al, a stinging accusation.
Can I just ask you when was the last time you used a Mac? What OS?
Anyways all I'm saying its a cool gadget to work with and if you need can work in a Microsoft enviroment as well. Something that doesn't happen the other way round.
Also its compatible with most mice, I got a cool kensington PC mouse with it.
Actually it prob cost about $150 less. I also got a cool bag with it, and bought my friend the 'mighty mouse' while I was there.
that said a bunch of mingers broke into our flat and nicked our pc laptop. good friends that live near us upgraded their old mac notebook to i think what you just got. so, i is back on mac. mac's so rock as opposed to those over rated pc bland ass boxes:)~
well, sounds almost like destiny now that you're 'forced' to go back to mac. welcome back!
